Singapore Botanical Gardens

The Singapore Botanical Gardens are absolutely beautiful. They are huge with restaurants and a theatre, big ponds, open lawns and a orchid garden that will make your jaw drop.

Walking through the evolution garden...

They run water projects and natural habitat programs throughout.

Some of the plants!

The trees in the evolution garden. Basically its a walk through time.

Elephant ear ferns!

A massive pond.

This pond is filled with turtles!

Yes, filled with turtles!

Everything is done so beautifully here. It is the most international, beautifully clean place I have ever seen. There is no litter, everything is spotless. There are more rubbish bins in SG than there are people!

Figs...these things are filled with wasp eggs...apparently its some seriously symbiotic relationship they have!

Me at one of the fountains!

They even have a rain forest in the gardens! This rain forest is what is left of what used to cover the Island of Singapore before it became developed.

Beautiful.

 The ginger garden.

Kyle behind a waterfall!

Look how huge the lilly pads are!

Ginger flower.

Statue in the garden.

The orchid garden.

Superb!

Masses of colour. Its the biggest orchid garden in the world.

Sublime!

The theatre in the gardens.

Walking out of the gardens. Is got a 10km running route going through it.

As we were leaving this is what was lying on the path!

Its got free entrance and the subway runs right to the front gate!

Marina Bay Sands - Singapore

Well, Singapore is possibly the most incredible place in the world! I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT......Everything is so efficient, everything is so clean, everyone speaks English, the place is SENSATIONAL beyond anything I can describe to you. It is expensive and suave and sophisticated and it is just oozing with culture and places to go!

This is taken from the Marina Bay Sands Hotel...what a skyline!

Me at the top - 67 floors up...

Mr. Torf at the top - totally loving life here! Must be like home....or close too....HOLLYWOOD!

Those 2 coloured (pink) lights are the theatre.

Mwaaaaah x x x

You have to pay 20 Sing Dollars to go up to the sky deck or you ca say you are going to the bar and they let you up free!

Uber suave place - Ku De Ta.

The restaurant - pretty amazing hey?

The bar at the top.

The city!

More of the city...

Salang Beach & Sunset

The beach we spent our days on. We snorkeled out to that island...much further away than it looks.

Beauteous!

Getting a bit overcast, but still lovely!

Gorg afternoon sun!

Sunset...and it starts...

Superb.

Waiting for the sun to pop out from behind the clouds.

Stunning!

Wow...

Going, going, going...gone...

Tioman

Tioman, Salang...beach bars...

The restaurants don't sell booze so you have to get it from the takeaway and you can sit at the restaurants and drink it.

The only walkway on Salang!

From the walkway looking onto the beach.

More of the beautiful beach.

Crossing the bridge to get to our bungalow.

Where the river meets the sea...

Our "Inn" - Puteri Salang Inn.

Walking to the bungalow. Can you see the jungle in the background...its jungle and beach and we are somewhere in the middle.

And then when you get back this is what awaits you in a bungalow...I thought all the monkeys were outside!

There is numerous animals roaming around including these cute things!

Salang, Tioman

Tioman Island was voted by Time magazine back in the seventies as one of the most beautiful places on earth...well, its a true story! It is quite sensational.
Where we are staying is the diving central of Tioman and there are corals and sea life that would blow your mind! The sea water is as clear as tap water and Salang is only about a km wide. It consists of a few restaurants and some hotels. We are staying in a beach bungalow.

They have these monitor lizards everywhere...pretty scary...I didn't know they got that big!

Just like a crocodile and they lurk around in the water!

Beautiful sunset...

The beach...we spent the entire day yesterday lying on the beach and swimming. The great thing about this place is that it cools down at night.

Lying on the beach at sunset...

We found some Two Oceans wine here at a dodgy little shop, so we bought a bottle and sat on the beach and watched the sunset.

Our bungalow inside...yes, those are the sheets I packed from home! I'm not sure this is the cleanest place on earth! These sheets were the best idea ever!

Our bungalow from the outside.

I'm off snorkeling, will post again soon...
