Similan Islands

The most beautiful place on earth, i didn't even know places like this existed...

This is Tang - he was our tour guide for the Similan Islands.

Look at the colour of the water. Can you believe it???? I still can't get over it!

You can't see it so well here, but this is a turtle. We were snorkeling and there were 3 turtles around us. The fish and corals were truly spectacular, it is well preserved and cared for and is possibly one of the best experiences i've had.

I still cant get over the colour of the water!

Similan has 9 Islands. You can do do 1 day trips, 2 day or 3 day stays where you go diving and snorkeling and trailing all over the islands. Something very worth doing.

All the Islands are National Parks and there are very strict regulations with regards to the preservation of the islands and the marine life.

This is on Similan Island, the biggest of the Similan Islands where Kyle and I walked to the other side of the Island only to find even more paradise!

The other side of Similan Island...

It was so beautiful that I spent the entire day in awe!

Leaving Similan Island for some more snorkeling.

The next snorkeling spot...I saw 2 puffer fish, Dory and Shark-fin from Finding Nemo and many other sparkly, lumo, bright, colourful fish.

Hiking up to Sail Rock on one of the Islands.

On top of Sail Rock!

The end of the trip, getting ready for our bumpy boat ride back to the pier and 2 hour taxi ride back to Patong!

  1. Part of the park, but geologically and physically quite separate are Koh Bon and Koh Tachai.
Ko Bon (Bon Island) – with no beach and no accommodation this is still an island to visit. khaolakexplorer.com Khao Lak Explorer Diving Center
