Melaka

Melaka - World Heritage City. Its very cute and beautiful around Melaka...it was just a one day stop for us on our way to the Tioman Islands.

They say there only a couple of things you need to do in Melaka, one is go on one of these tri-shaws and the other is to eat cendol.

Well, these tri-shaws are too much fun! Firstly you get pealed around the city while the speakers around you blear music from oldies to rock to trance to heavy metal...its just hilarious! All these foreigners riding around with musc blearing from the tri-shaws!

This is the eye-sore of Melaka- the locals hate it. Its a tower you can go up and look out over the whole of Melaka, it is however, really ugly!

Kyle and I at the Melaka Tree - this tree is over 300 years old!

The replica of a Portuguese boat.

Water wheel on the river.

Stadhuys - In other words, City House. This place was colonized by the Dutch and everything still very much reflects that.

Laughing - singing "tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree".

The front of the tri-shaw! You'll see in the video I have uploaded at the end the driver and exactly how everything looks and works!

Old English Airplane at the Melaka Tree.

Ruins...

Dude playing a flute! He was so funny, when he finished playing a song, he'd give himself a HUGE round of applause!

Old Chevy at one of the Museums.

Some of the other tri-shaws...

They really go out of their way to decorate them.

 Heh heh heh...

Pink butterfly!

Sitting along the river at a cafe where we had to try cendol.

 Windmill - Dutch influence.

Chinatown - Jonker Walk

Yip, are quite close to Borneo, but we haven't seen any Orang-Utans.

Melaka River

This is a statue of Mr. Malaysia. He represents body building in Asia!

Unesco World Heritage Site.

This is cendol. It is a coconut and brown sugar iced desert with red beans and coconut jelly. Absolutely delicious! This one was home made...the lady was so nice, she promised it was going to be divine!

Here is a video of being on the tri-shaw!
