National Day - Singapore

Singapore National Day...Happy 47th Birthday Singapore. This is the day on which SG gained its independence from Malaysia in 1965. Mr. Lee Kuan Yew is considered the forefather of modern Singapore and he was the first priminister of SG. This was an especially special day as their were rumours that he had died, however he arrived at the parade! SG knows how to celebrate in style!

Walking through the city experiencing some great sites. This is the Esplanade Theatres on the bay.

Inside the theatre. Everything is so beautiful.

The ceiling!

The Merlion - SG's National Mascot.

Close up of the Merlion.

As the sun goes down...the celebrations begin...

Louis Vuitton right on the water!

The parade...

Police force, army, marines etc etc

The police are amazing and so friendly and helpful! Not like the Police in SA!

And then...the fireworks started. This was a firework show like I have never

Incredible!

Wow!

Beautiful!

Just incredible!

It was quite spectacular.

These are some of Kyle's Photos...This is the National Arts and Science Museum. They had an Andy Warhol Exhibition as well as a Harry Potter one!

Kyle and I on the Bridge!

The crowds in red in white at the parade!

Its just wonderful how patriotic everyone is and how much they love their country! Did you know that SG is the only country where the name of the country and the capital city are the same.

Close up of the museum.

Sunset...

This is where we were standing.

Watching the parade.

The navy band...

Soldiers carrying bayonets...hectic. Everything was done in such precision...

They even had girlscouts and boyscouts! so cute!
