Mui Ne

At 4am this morning the alarm went...yes, it was time to get up and get ready for a tour! So tired and miff and we set off in an old jeep with a driver that spoke zero English and away we went!

Arriving at the White Sand Dunes for Sunrise...This is a major tourist attraction in Mui Ne...They are situated in the middle of nowhere and they stretch for miles.

The white sand dunes. There is no sea within eye view of the dunes, however there are a few dams and some plantations around.

After sunrise the pics came out clearer. It was pretty overcast this morning. Even a little rain...and the jeep is completely open...never a dull moment whilst traveling.

Oasis in the middle of the dunes...very gorg.

So beautiful...

It almost looks like the sea should be just around the corner...but its far from there!

Water lily pond in the dunes.

The oasis!

You can rent 4 wheeler's and go missioning around. Very expensive though.

The next stop was the red canyon...the colour of the soil is just remarkable.

Walking through the canyon at 6am!

Superb!

Complimentary colours...

Driving along the main road of Mui Ne to our next stop.

The Red Sand Dunes was the 3rd stop of the day...quite different in colour to the white sand dunes. There are red dunes for miles and you go sand sledding...like everything in the East, there are zero regulations and it looked pretty dangerous!

Spreading for miles...its always so windy at the top of these dunes.

Walking up to the dunes from the parking lot!

The next stop on the road was the fishing village...this could possibly be one of the most intriguing things I have ever soon.

All the fishing boats...

These are the bamboo boats they use to get from the big boat onto shore...it carries all the fish. So cool...I want one for the lagoon!

I don't know what these are, but the shells are really pretty. I assume they eat them. They anything and everything here!

These are crabs...packets and packets and kg's and kg's of crab...CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP...

Tons and tons and tons of fish. Nice hat!

Shrimp anyone? How about a basket of the stuff? One of 200 baskets.

Unloading the basket boats with all the fresh sea creatures.

I don't know what kind of "fish" this stuff is, but it looks like anything that lives on the bottom of the ocean floor gets dumped in a pile and sorted and sold!

This is what the sea stuff consists of. They even have sea snakes and stuff in there. I don't know what that eely type thing is either...but they eat it!

The last stop was the Fairy Stream. You walk upstream to the source and its very beautiful and only ankle deep water.

Walking through the river...

That's how shallow it is.

It was so beautiful. The surrounds were amazing and the dunes and rock formations along the banks were truly like a fairy garden.

Walking, winding, really enjoying it.

The river bank...one side is red sand / rocks and the other is dense jungle.

This woman is carrying fish the entire way up the river.

Ever wondered what a water hyacinth flower looks like up close...well there it is!!!!

And at 8:30 we were returned to our hotel, where I promptly climbed back into bed and slept for a good few more hours.
Then it was time for the beach and pool...watched some kite surfing...

Look how airborne he is. Kite surfing is massive here. You can do a full 3 day course on kite surfing and people come from all over the world to do it.

Lying at the pool, Kyle made a friend. There were millions of them everywhere. But after the tour and the sun and sea and pool, I'm starving so i'm going to grab some beach BBQ...
