Walking the City of Dalat

We decided today we'd walk around the city of Dalat of see what it is all about. We wanted to visit the Flower Garden and the Valley of Luuuuuuuuuurrrvvvveee....

But first we needed coffee...so we stopped at this gorg little coffee shop.

Very non-Vietnamese...

I blow dried my hair for the first time in weeks...In fact its probably the first time i've brushed my hair in weeks!!!

Look how cute the coffee is...

So pretty!

Walking to the lake...

There are statues and flowers and flower beds lining the roads everywhere.

Flower baskets, you can have them made with your name in them!

Flower stalls all along the road - for miles...

Its just absolutely beautiful.

Can you believe this...all down the streets on both sides.

Some cacti...I wouldn't have thought this was a place for them....to humid!

Exquisite lillies and all in the most glorious colours.

Topiary or whatever its called...

Arum lillies

Dalat City...what a beautiful place!

The Eiffel Tower...

Walking to Xuan Huong Lake. Do you see those dark clouds in the background...well that's what was waiting for us!

Some local fishing...I don't know how kosher the fish will be...

Look how nice everything is.

How romantic...the swan boats!

There are horse drawn carts everywhere...they take you to the Valley of Luuuurve...which is a safe option. Did you know that nearly 25 people a day are killed on the roads in Vietnam????? That's nearly 10 000 a year!!!!!! So when I say we had a hair raising trip, you know what I mean!

The horse cart...well we thought about it...and then the heavens opened and we still had far to walk....and then eventually we had a catch taxi back to the hotel...it rained all day, so it was a nice chilled day in doors!
