Nha Trang

Nha Trang is the party central of Vietnam, its not really surprising as this place is teaming with bars, beautiful beaches and booze cruises! It truly is gorgeous and everything is super suave!

We went to Vinpearl today, it is Vietnam's amusement park out on an island off Nha Trang. Arriving at the port where you can catch a boat or cable car across the water.

The layout of the island: It has a water park, an aquarium, shopping mall, games arcade, restaurants, food halls, amusement park and swanky hotel.

The cable car! They carry between 1000 / 1500 people per hour across the island. The trip only takes 12 minutes.

This is the longest across ocean cable car in the world, stretching 3.32km.

In the cable car going over the port.

It was very beautiful looking at all the surrounds and the ocean is an exquisite colour.

Boats docked at one of the other islands off Nha Trang.

Vinpearl in the distance...

Passing cable car!

Getting closer...

Arriving on the island...

Look how beautiful the ocean is...

Dragon gardens: dragon shapes covered in pot plants!

This was absolutely insane...there are more pictures coming, but let me just tell you...you get onto this thing that looks really harmless. Well, it starts spinning slowly in a circle, then it starts to lift, then it starts to swing while it spins and lifts and the next thing you know you are at 45 degrees, then 90, then 180 then it spins while you are hanging upside down and then finally, it starts to come down, still, spinning and swinging.

When you get off, your voice has gone from screaming in terror and your knuckles are white from holding on for dear life and your head is dizzy and your feet can barely hold you up!

Firstly we went to the aquarium. It's no Ushaka, but it was OK.

It's Vietnam's biggest aquarium and its done really nicely. I just felt though that the tanks were a little small for some of the fish and there is little to zero regard for rules and regulations. Flash photos, kids screaming, tapping the water, tapping the glass...etc etc

Beautiful corals and weird sea anemones.

Jelly fish - close up! (Dory from finding Nemo "I shall call you squishy and you shall be mine ad you shall be my squishy!")

Lots of jelly fish!

Pretty fish!

Sea horses...so cute...

They breed little sharks...here are some of them.

We found Nemo!

Looks pretty dangerous, wouldn't want to step on one of these!

These buggers look vicious...Kyle swears that eel sushi is delicious...maybe they are good for something...

Well, they are so big, you could make a sushi platter to feed an army!

I want to go diving again...so incredibly beautiful!

Crab - they cook these things everywhere...these lucky ones get stuck in a jar in an aquarium.

Oh yes and lobster too...not safe out in the open...put on a braai faster than you can say chop sui!

Turtles...they are so adorable, you can't help but feel sad though...

HUGE rays, lots of them!

The one big tank you walk through is arched, its pretty cool. Sharks and rays and schools of fish swim around you as you walk through.

The games arcade...been about 20 years since I was last in one!

Bumper cars - always a winner!

No wonder children are so violent these days, all these games are about killing people and you have guns and all sorts weapons!

Rodeo bull...

See this violent society...

This one was better...you had to knock this dudes teeth out with balls that you through while his lips went up and down!

OK, so back to this thing, you can see how it starts to go up...

And then up some more...

We are now 180 degrees in the opposite direction to where we started!

Oh ya, and just because that other thing wasn't bad enough, we went on the roller coaster as well!

Fun times...some poor woman fainted when she got off it!

The Globe of Death...they put motorbikes in there and they have to drive around inside...sometimes more than one at a time...just crazy!

Me on the bridge...

Me in the garden...they had the most superb gardens...

And then....the water park....

Frogs at the entrance...I wondered if you kissed one if it turned into some dishy hunk...so I tried...and look what was waiting for me around the corner...

What a pleasant surprise...I am very happy with the result!

Heavenly beaches...White sand, blue seas, coconut trees and grass huts...everything you could wish for!

The lazy river, just drifting around on a tube!

The slides...well there are no safety regulations...K and I both suffered a couple of injuries!

Ya, they are dodgy...although they are nothing on the slide of courage at Sun City!

Good fun, however you go down on these mats...head first...and you get water sprayed into every orifice while you duck under the branches that are growing on the sides!

After a HECTIC day at Vinpearl it was off to chill for a bit!

They make beer shandy's here with a squeeze of lime and a shot of passion fruit in the beer. Its nice...

Then...lobsters on the beach. The cook them for you while you wait...on the beach.

There we go...what a pleasure!

Anything you want...prawns, crabs, clams...all done in the beach kitchen.

There's a nice selection! The unlucky ones that don't get to live in the aquarium!

Hundreds of them...I've never seen so much crayfish in my life!

Walking home along the beach...

Arriving at the guesthouse...absolutely exhausted after today!

Bath, supper, bed...
