Phnom Pehn - Cambodia

Our last day in Vietnam was spent in somewhat of a bad way...I ate fired rice and shrimp and got some serious food poisoning. Anyway I think it was some filthy sewerage dirty Mekong River shrimp...The worst part of it all was that I was sick all night and then I had to catch a 7 hour boat to Cambodia...that was pretty rough...but we made it and its been a 3 days and I have finally recovered and enjoying the beautiful city of Phnom Pehn!

The boat we caught at the border crossing Vietnam / Cambodia.

The border crossing.

The inside of the boat.

Finally...Phnom Pehn in sight...

The Tuk Tuk that took us to our hotel...

The streets of Phnom Pehn.

I had to eat something...mushy bananas seemed like a good thing after the shrimp!

Sitting at the Mekong River - no more seafood...

Sticking to the coconuts...

We went to this place called the The Blue Pumpkin where you can get really nice healthy food...this is the restaurant...

Gorg was really nice to me while I was sick! Mwaaaaaaah x x x Love your face...beeeeg kiss, leeetle kiss, beeg hug, leeetle hug x x x

Nice pic in the restaurant.

Walking the river front...

This looks like the ultimate pimp mobile...dragons on the side...its all wooden and decorated...however, it is actually a hearse.

Dancing on the riverfront - its so funny! They play loud rave music and hundreds of people do it, even people who look they might be in their early hundreds!

The sunset walking along the river.

Such a beautiful city.

Today we went and missioned around the tourist sites...This is the Royal palace and Silver Pagoda.

One of the temples within the Palace grounds.

Everything was really well kept and so beautiful.

There is definitely a recurring theme throughout the temples and buildings in Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.

The roof of one of the temples.

The Silver Pagoda...the entire floor is covered in sterling silver. They do not allow you to take photographs inside so unfortunately I can't show you!

The gardens and surrounds are quite spectacular.

Awesome gardens.

How incredible is the colour of this flower?

This Buddha has such a nice face!

Naga's are back in fashion in Cambodia!

K & G outside the Silver Pagoda.

Replica of Angkor Wat.

Close up of the replica...we are going there soon! Yay!!!!!

The detail of the roof is quite amazing.

These flowers are amazing they grow out of the trees!

Close up of the flowers.

The Cambodian Royal Crest.

And then it we went to the National Museum.

The museum. It had the most amazing relics and things in it!

And after the museum we went to the market...

Wow! Odds and ends surrounded you from every end and it is in a huge dome.

Lunch????? No thanks I'm over fish! Maybe some bananas will be good, or some salad or anything without meat or seafood!
