Chilling in LP

Lao Lao Garden...
There is a checklist of things to do in Laos, we have managed to tick the majority of the boxes however, Lao Lao whiskey and wine had not been ticked. So we went to this traditional Laotian restaurant and we tried the works.
1) Lao Lao - revolting, something similar to battery acid or paint stripper. All the locals drink it and its cheaper than beer (that should say something right there!)
2) Laos Wine - very sweet, pink in colour, drinkable, sort of like cooldrink, could be potentially dangerous!

The Lao Lao Garden

It goes up in terraces in a garden its so beautiful. Everything is lit by candles and very dim lights - its super romantic!

Basket lights hang in most restaurants around the city - it creates such beautiful ambiance.

We sat at the top of the garden.

Me trying to be creative with photography!

Spicy Papaya Salad....delish...hot though....

Kyle ate a water buffalo stew type of thing...it was pretty nice! Looks good!

For those of you who don't know what a water buffalo looks like, here's a pic.

Lao Lao

Playing cards with some of the peeps at the guesthouse - really nice vibe here, nice people, fun times....

Utopia...gorgeous place on the Nam Khan River...They do yoga here in the mornings and evenings. You can lie in their gardens or have a bite to eat. They have a volley ball court and divine loungers under a hut you can just chill on...

Pic of me without sunglasses...first one in a while!

Jungle before the water...you sit in a hut above the jungle and look at the river.

Here's gorg!

Beautiful view from Utopia.

Hut you can chill under...

 Banana and Lao coffee smoothie...
Now, the wine and whiskey is not great, however, the Laos coffee is SUPERB, SENSATIONAL, MOUTH WATERING, AMAZING....did i say superb?????

Paths through the garden

They have old bombs everywhere. Its sort of an education for tourists. Laos is the most bombed country in the world, 30% of those bombs never went off and therefore they are kept as reminders (or they make jewelry and stuff out of them and sell them to support the communities who were badly affected).

Left over bomb chandelier!

Left over bomb used as a pot plant!
