Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang is a Unesco World Heritage Site...It doesn't surprise me because it is beautiful, amazing, sensational, superb, incredible, unbelievable, quaint, gorgeous, and divine beyond belief. I cannot believe that this gem of a place is not visited by millions more people. It is absolutely splendid!

This is the view as we left Vang Vieng for Luang Prabang...

There are temples and monks everywhere in Luang Prabang.

The Naga is always at the entrance of the Temple gates. (Definition of Naga - big fish that has been made to be mythical but actually exists and they pull them out the Mekong!)

Beautiful streets, quiet and quaint.

Sunset over the Mighty Mekong River - truly something special to see.

Just breath taking...

Yummy...how about a snake or lizard in some yellow liquid on the rocks???

Too much amazing-ness this place....I don't think i'm going to leave - maybe i'll just stay here forever....

Ya, I'm really thinking that staying is a great idea!

The street with all the cafe's along the Mekong.

OK, so i've decided that i'm definitely not leaving!

Everything is just beautiful, everything is gorg, everything is nice and it's too much goodness everywhere you look!

Traditional Laos painting.

More paintings...always with Monks in!

Luang Prabang Night Market is amazing! Firstly its huge, secondly it has more Laos curios and traditional clothing and all things Laos, that it's quite overwhelming. I have decided to buy my first souvenir from here, it is a bracelet made out of shrapnel and landmines and all sorts that have left the villages in ruins. All the money collected goes back to the villages.

I was so ecstatically happy...It poured with rain and it was cold and I felt cold and so I could finally have a cup of hot coffee...it was the best thing i've ever had!

Look at the colour of the river after the rain...

Gorgeous streets, everything is so clean and beautiful...

Everything has beautiful colours and its green and lush and and and and and and...I think you get how much I like Luang Prabang??????

Mountains, river, beautiful City....come on....

Strolling through the streets...

The dodgy van they brought us to Luang Prabang in. It took 7 hours in this thing to do 230km. Winding roads, nearly 50 head on collisions, nearly 20 motorbike accidents, nearly me having another aneurysm...and ya, finally we arrived.

Stunning art gallery where they sell traditional Laos stuff, from handcrafted silk scarves through to beautiful paintings and handbags.

Every restaurant in Laos sort of looks like this...

LOL - some thing showever never change.

The view from outside our guesthouse.

The place we are staying...

The mountain and Temple in the middle of the city - you have to walk around it to get from the guesthouse to the market and to the Mekong - its pretty cool! It has about 500 steps going up to it...I will post on the blog about it as soon as I have done it!

 Lotus flowers...

These flowers grow everywhere - they are so gorg! Going all Nat Geo Wild again!
