Vientiane - Laos

Such a quaint little place, very French but very cute...

These trees grow everywhere and they are the most amazing colour!

Vins de France - A French wine cellar situated in the heart of Vientiane. It is so out of place here because its so schwarve and the rest of place is like dirty little road stalls! Moet and expensive wines line the walls, its actually quite amazing!

Wine, wine, wine....oh how I miss it!

More and more and more wine...what a pleasure! Although i'm almost positive SA wine is better than French wine!

A typical street in Vientiane.

Laos is still a communist country.

Tuk Tuk - the mode of transport. I was hoping i'd said goodbye to them in Thailand!

Gorgeous French bakery in the street where we stayed.

I don't know who would buy this and worse who would drink it, but its a snake with a scorpion in its mouth and huge sprig of ginger in some yellow liquid...

Sunset from Bor Pen Nyang which is a rooftop bar on the Mekong.

They have a market every night along the Mekong where they have food stalls, curios, clothing, jewelry etc - here it looks small but it actually goes on quite far!

RD Guesthouse, was so perfectly situated. Smack in the center of Vientiane with the number bakery as recommended by Lonely Planet 5 shops down!

We were on the 2nd floor.

The street outside the guesthouse.

And the travel agency was right next door so we could book a bus to Vang Vieng!

This is reception and the receptionist, Pui, was an absolute star!
