Tubing in Vang Vieng - I survived it!

The main reason people go to Vang Vieng is to do the tubing. Now many people have died doing tubing because it is total drunken debauchery, mixed with a river and a tube, hectic slides and swings and hundreds of bars along the river banks... It is absolute chaos, CHAOS, CHAOS...

The whole experience takes a bout 3 hours to float from the starting point back into the town where you get out, its about 4km. If you stop at the bars along the way..its a full day excursion!

The tubing profits go to the community so you are advised to do it and all the money you pay is given back.

As the Tuk Tuk drops you, this is the first thing you see...
"DRINK TO HELP CHILDREN" All profit goes to education...So what were we supposed to do...we want to help the community!

Q-Bar is where you start tubing...

And here we go...

Across the bridge and the first beer of the day.

The numerous bars along the river.

Every time you arrive at a new bar you have to have a shot of Tiger Whiskey which is possibly the most disgusting thing in the world!

I'm drinking to save the children!

"Why not bar" - why not get drunk, jump off the swings and smash into some rocks...lots of people do it!

And we drank some more to save the children!

Smile Bar - too much fun!

Extra large Jenga! You have to pull a block and underneath there is something written....and you have to do what is written!

First one: Whiskey Shot!

Too much fun!

Good times...

Some random German dude had to lick my face! YUCK!

Germans ad Canadians we spent the day with!

Down downs...

Back on the river....next bar!

Slides...I can just see how people get hurt...

Ya, say no more! But we did them anyway....

Enough is enough...floating back down the river to the town.

So beautiful...and my camera survived the entire ordeal! Can you believe it????
